STARTER

Canon R7
- The R7 is a highly recommended camera. It's listed here as a starter camera due to it being a crop sensor, but it has intermediate features like 4K 60fps video, C-log, in-body image stabilization (IBIS), up to 6-hour video recording length, and high resolution 32.5MP photos at up to 30fps.

Canon R8
- The R8 is the choice if you need low-light capabilities due to its full-frame sensor. Otherwise, we'd recommend the R7 for the added features such as IBIS and recording limit (2-hour limit for R8).

Canon R10
- For a low-budget option, the R10 is a great choice to get started! For a camera under $1000, it has a lot of features including 4K 60fps (cropped) video, 24.2MP photos, a very fast autofocus system (Dual Pixel CMOS AF II), and more.

INTERMEDIATE

Canon R6 Mark II
- The R6 Mark II is an excellent intermediate, semi-pro hybrid shooter, featuring 4K 60fps video with no recording limit, up to 180fps frame rate at 1080p, IBIS, and 24.2MP photos at up to 40fps.

Canon R5 Mark II
- The R5 Mark II is an upgrade specifically for the photography side, allowing for higher resolution photos at 45MP.

ADVANCED

Canon R5 C
- The R5 C is an excellent hybrid shooter, equally capable in video (8K RAW, C-log, etc.) and photo (45MP 20fps). It does, however, lack the IBIS found in the R6 Mark II and R5 Mark II.

Canon C70
- The C70 is a good cinema camera featuring internal ND and mini-XLR inputs. However, the lack of 8K and being a smaller Super35 sensor makes me prefer the R5 C.

Canon C80
- We have not used the C80 but excited about what we've seen about it!
